Angel Update on Patti Lutter

I have been a " fallen " angel for Patti () Lutter, who had her

surgery on October 11th. I have finally connected with her partner,

Jaye, and spoke with her this evening. Patti is in the University of

Nebraska Med Center in Omaha, NE (LeDeaux is there, also,

recovering from a liver transplant!).

Patti's surgery took longer than usual -- 7 hours -- due to

difficulty getting through scar tissue from previous surgeries and

" springing a leak " (whatever that entailed). She had a rough few

days

recovering with vomiting and nausea, as usual I understand. The NG

tube came loose this morning which caused irritation and filled the

line with blood and it really scared Jaye! The NG tube was removed

along with the catheter today and she is now down to only having the

two tubes in her belly and one IV. Her blood sugars are running 250,

but Dr. Sudan took the sugar out of the IV drip, so they expect the

blood sugar to come down. Last night Jaye and Patti took four walks.

Jaye said Patti isn't up to talking on the phone yet, but she did

have two visitors early this evening and was sleeping in the recliner

and Jaye had the bed! :-)

I promise to keep in touch with them and let you know in a day or so

how she is doing. I have my MIL here visiting us and things have

been crazy around our house. Our house was repossessed 2 months ago,

we are in a one-bedroom rental now, with 2 dogs & 3 cats, and the

rental house is being auctioned the end of this month (we just found

out). So we are a little bit stressed right now! :-)

If anyone wants to contact me, I'm at jkeller@.... Thanks

for all your prayers and good thoughts for Patti!

Jacque
