Guest guest
Hi, In my nutrition studies and personal experience I learned that a gluten free diet may help initially but long term does nothing to actually heal the intestinal permeability ie. leaky gut which develops from the gluten sensitivities and excess carbohydrate fermentation in the gut. If you read breaking the vicious cycle Elaine does an excellent job of explaining the science. Anyway in order to heal the gut SCD is the way to go. People I know on gluten free diets must strictly avoid any gluten containing food and this is life long whereas with scd once the gut heals the occasional slip does not send a person into dire symptoms. That is my understanding and this can be further investigated in Natasha -McBride’s book Gut and Psychology Syndrome. It was written for autism but she is just releasing a version for heart disease and next one for Chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia which will include using the SCD to heal leaky gut. The premise is the same in all books as leaky gut is responsible for all disease. Janice K.
