Can I correct a mistake?

said: " : This reminded me of the sad story last year where the

baby died from

a salt overdose because it was fed Ready Brek and the parents thought it

would be the same as baby rice. It's so cynical - these products are

invented to make a market ... how many babies actually eat baby rice? "

I can understand why you said this, the reporting was very bad, but Ready

Brek is actually a very good weaning food from 6mths. The level of salt

occurs naturally, and is fine. The salt problem arose from the fact that

the parents were serving mashed potato (made up to their tastes, no doubt

with salt) with shop-bought gravy powder (VERY high in salt). The Ready

Brek was not an issue, but was mentioned in every article, as it was the

only other thing the poor mite ate, I think! Easy to see how you

misconstrued, but Ready Brek not to blame....

Weetabix (who own the brand) were outraged, but advised to keep quiet so

that it would all die down and their brand would be " associated " with a

baby death for as short a time as possible - even when unfairly linked.
