" I can understand why you said this, the reporting was very bad, but Ready Brek is actually a very good weaning food from 6mths. The level of salt occurs naturally, and is fine. The salt problem arose from the fact that the parents were serving mashed potato (made up to their tastes, no doubt with salt) with shop-bought gravy powder (VERY high in salt). The Ready Brek was not an issue, but was mentioned in every article, as it was the only other thing the poor mite ate, I think! Easy to see how you misconstrued, but Ready Brek not to blame.... Weetabix (who own the brand) were outraged, but advised to keep quiet so that it would all die down and their brand would be " associated " with a baby death for as short a time as possible - even when unfairly linked.
