Guest guest
Ok group, Another question,I'm on final day of induction(tomorrow) I haven't gotten to the store as of yet to buy all those supplements that everyone says is so important. So after tomorrow do I up the carb in take and if so how many is it safe to have without gaining back the weight I have lost? Then how long do I have to be off induction before I can go back on it again. Please? Anybody? Thanks Pete

I had the weight loss surgery and the only thing I have to take is 2 Bugs Bunny Complete sugar free vitamins a day. I have had blood tests and this keeps everything right where it is supposed to be even on this Atkins diet. It sure beats $30.00 for a bottle of vitamins and does the same thing. If I bought the vitamins I would have to give up my one Atkins diet candy bar a day cause I couldn't afford both. Theresa

Guest guest
Hey Kate, welcome to the group. I've been here for a couple weeks and the people here are a wonderful resource and great help. I saw my PCP after I'd been bleeding off and on for a few months. When I called to make the appt the receptionist got me in right away. My doc was very startled about the look of the blood and she wanted me to get scoped immediately (she even suggested I go to the ER!) But it took several weeks before I could get a scope appt. When I got the scope, the doctor was pretty sure it was a malignant tumor, but I waited several days for the biopsy results to come in. Best of luck to you, you're doing the right thing! Keep us posted. Terri Dx Stage 3 rectal cancer September 2001
Guest guest
Terri: Is Stage 3 cancer a late stage cancer? I don't know anything about the stages, but I am sorry you were diagnosed with this dreadful disease. I am surprised to learn that so many young ( 25 - 40) year old people get this type of cancer. Was the bleeding the only symptom you had. Take good care of yourself. What a wonderful support group everyone has here. Thanks for sharing. Yes, I will keep everyone here posted. Guest guest
Hi again Kate. I'm 52 (tomorrow!). Seems young for this cancer, but it seems to be more and more common in us youngsters! Yes, the bleeding was the only symptom. I was having some lower abdominal cramping but several docs said they didn't think that was related (I do though). Stage 3 means that the tumor has grown outside the wall, there are possibly lymph nodes involved, but no metastasis to other organs. It's not considered late stage. Be well, everyone! I leave on a trip to the San Islands in the morning. Terri
