As far as I know he is (or maybe was) a

lawyer based up in New England or Boston

ways. A number of men met him, including Don Cooley, who was diagnosed at about

the same time as he was. Don had treatment ProstaScint at RCOG and became

a very involved prostate cancer activist supporting screening and early

treatment. He had a very active website and some great mailing lists. The

website is here http://prostate-help.org/ and although Don has given up his

active role, the site still contains valuable information. Squarf had a $10 bet

with Don that he would outlast Don. As far as I know the bet hasn’t been

collected.

An interesting blog by Mr. Squarf. Worth noting, I

think,that he was 65 years old when first diagnosed with very early stage PCa.

At this age and stage it could be assumed that this would be a slow growing

cancer that might not create any problems for many years. A huge number of men

die with (not from) prostate cancer without even knowing it, as would probably

have been the case here if not for the screening. But I'm sure other results

may vary - as they say. I wonder who Lorenzo Q Squarf really is?
