Guest guest
Joyce, I agree. I am down to 15 and other than mild memory loss function I feel fine-BUT at 20 I am so angry over little things and I lay awake at night consumed by foolish thoughts and I cry at the drop of a hat. I also get bugged by weird things-like my finger nails not being even, or blotches on my arm. I don't realize it is such crazy behavior till afterwards. We need an anti pred pill! Praying for you always- Sarcoid/PF 3/2006 California The Grumpies In my research as to the cause of "The Grumpies," I am finding that they increase and diminish in conjunction with Prednisone mgs. I was on 20mg and mean as an Australian snake (and lets not discuss those slimy creatures again), then weaned down to 10mgs and started becoming my sweet loveable self. The doc last week turned the pred back up to 20 and already the urge to kill has returned. When I am on really high doses, I am dangerous. The Grumpies are back. I hate Prednisone! Hate it, hate it, hate it! I will submit these findings to the AMA for publishing. Guest guest
My doctor told my husband and daughter that the Pred could cause me to have psychotic episodes. Chaz wanted to know how he would be able to tell the difference......LOL!!! true story. Guest guest
Now I'm stable on pred, so long as the pred is stable. If I'm coming down off a high dose (as I am now) that's when I start seeing red, but my docs are well aware of this and try to bring me down slowly so that I get wound up for a little while but have a calm period before lowering the dose again. I couldn't believe how angry I got over petty things before we discovered the way it is with me. Now I'm aware that I'm likely to get angry, Rob is warned and I try to avoid situations where I'm likely to explode. If the lowering of the dose coincides with PMT, then everyone just keeps out of my way!
