Guest guest
Vicki, My surgery was 8/25/00 and I do not eat much more than that. I limit my bread and concentrate on the protein. Most of the time if I get a chicken sandwich. I can only eat about half to 3/4 of the chicken and a few bites of bread. Listen to your body it will tell you what and how much to eat. I have found that I am not able to eat that much without it feeling stuck. I try to eat every 2 hours or so because of this and trying to get my protein in. It is a good idea to supplement with protein power. Hope this helps. Pam from WA
Guest guest
Hi Sheila - I'm thinking positive thoughts (stinky ones) and bought devrom - tastes like bananas- ozium -a shaved Ice machine - it just came today - and dairy care - i'm already lactose intolerant and it helps - I haven't beothered with the vitamins yet, but I thought it would be helpful to have the rest of the stuff on hand Some post ops heve mentioned beano - but I haven't seen anything about mylecon - seems like a goos idea though. I also use immodium to help with post gallbladder diarrhea - I wonder if its allowed? Some depressed women go clothes shopping - i'm buying devrom - I'm sure that says something significant about my psyche....still hoping, just like you.... Guest guest
Hi Sheila -- I bought some Viactiv calcium chews, some liquid vitamins, and a can of protein powder that I opened but never tried. I got the prenatal vitamins post-op. I have since compared labels and found OTC vitamins that are more than equal to the scrip ones and don't cost me any more. Less hassle for me. Only had two significant gas pain episodes post-op, and they both passed uneventfully. (sorry!) Guest guest
, You and I think alike lol. I already used ozium so I had that on hand. I have the post gallbladder removal diarrhea too but I haven't taken the immodium in a while but I have seen where some doctors tell their patients to use it post op for their bouts of diarrhea (just be sure your surgeon oks it) I forgot about the devrom...is it expensive? I hope it is artificial Banana flavoring because I am allergic to the real ones! My advise to you is wait and see what Dr. wants you to use. I have ended up with a bunch of stuff that I can't use and having to buy things I didn't order. Hope you need it all real soon. Kay/MS.
