Guest guest
Kim, YAY CHRISTOPHER!!!!!!! Keep mommy on her toes Jakob is 2 1/2 and STILL has the outward appearance to a degree. It is most noticeable while he is laying down and relaxed (without the brace of course), but it is still there. It has NOT affected his walking at all. Kim Freed wrote: > took a step yesterday! Guest guest
Kim, Congratulations to on those steps!!! It is so exciting when they start. I still feel so blessed when I watch my little miracle running around (even when I'm exhausted!). >Do any of you whose children are walking > have any input? When Rose started walking independantly, I asked Dr. Ponseti if she needed to be in the brace for the same amount of time. He said we could go down to 12 hours. I would encourage you to email him because he would know what was best for . Rose's foot still goes out a little bit compared to her right foot, but it isn't a huge difference. I noticed when she was first walking it was more noticeable. It hasn't influenced her walking at all. Neil actually walks with both of his feet pointing out (he was born that way, I guess). The funny thing is, my feet point in somewhat. When I was pregnant with Rose, I joked to Neil one day that since his feet pointed out and mine in, we should have a kid with perfectly straight feet. Isn't that ironic?? Congratulations again on those steps! Joy http://community.webtv.net/joybelle15/ROSESCLUBFOOTPAGE

Guest guest
Wooohooo ! Way to go. I would ask Dr. Ponseit before decreaseing the time in the brace. Kim, your baby is growing up.... welcome to the world of TOTTLER. Sara and Ivy8/17/99 www.clubfoot.net Awesome news and a question > took a step yesterday! Guest guest
Kim, WOO HOO!!!! Isn't it GREAT!!! Annika's feet still remain outward facing. (she is 17 months) I don't expect them to look straight --so to speak-- for awhile. I wouldn't change the time in the brace without consulting Dr. Ponseti, but I also would encourage you or your husband to ask Dr. Ponseti about 's feet and when they will start to become 'straight'. It may be more comforting to hear it from him. Also, when Annika started standing, I got concerned for a couple of weeks because it appeared that the insides of her ankles were leaning WAY to far towards the ground and her legs would be spread WIDE apart! Freaked me out for about 2 weeks. But, she was just getting used to standing on them there legs. If you and your hubby havn't yet checked out the pictures of Annika at Photopoint, you should take a look. (Can't remember if you said you had looked or not) http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumList?u=76323 Check the Album:Clubfeet Follow Up Progress I don't have any really good photos of her standing, but there are 2 photos of her standing near the bottom of the album. Guest guest
Congratulations on your child's milestone of first steps. That is something I am looking very forward to seeing in the near future of my son Zach. I think you have some great questions and would like to know the answers you get from Dr. Ponseti on whether or not to cut down the hours of the DBB. Take Care, Kathy
