I bought the Yogourmet yogurt maker and was under the impression that it automatically controls the temperature for you, am I wrong? Do I still need a temperature controller with that particular maker? I made a batch already and it seems to have turned out just right, but I am worried now that it may not be? Does anyone else with the Yogourmet use a temperature controller, or just plug it in and trust that it is right?

Joanne, I just bought the temp controller you recommended. They sent

it without instruction manual and it wouldn't be a problem, but it

seems not to work. They didn't even send the invoice...I don't know if

temperature is set in Celcius or Fahrenheit, I can't set the time and

I'm not sure if I set the temp right. Do you have a manual or can you

explain me the details, please?

in a temperature controller for your yogurt maker. It takes all the

frustration out of trying to maintain a viable temperature.

(Yogourmet) or a container that you can put water into like the Euro

cuisine or Salton, invest in a temperature controller. They cost

approximately $50 to $100 and well worth it. You will be making

yogurt once or twice a week for one to two years ...or more!!!!

online and purchased a temperature controller that I set the

temperature and it maintains whatever temperature I have chosen (I set

mine at 108 degrees and that is where it stays within 1 degree plus or

minus.) I keep a piece of paper with the starting time taped to the

lid and take it out 28 hours later. It's wonderful! Don't purchase

the yogurt makers that have an automatic shut off.

cover of your yogurt maker into the water that your yogurt jars or

yogurt container sits in. You set the temperature to whatever you

desire. Your yogurt machine is plugged into the controller and the

controller is plugged into the outlet. That's it! The temperature

controller will turn your yogurt machine off and on to maintain the

temperature you have chosen. Just make sure the water level is

maintained and the probe stays in the water throughout the 28 hours or

whatever time frame you choose.

na,

I've never had a problem with the temperature on either of my Yogourmets.

Others have, and prefer a greater degree of control.

I got a probe through Sonoma. It is digital. You insert it into meat, yogurt, whatever and get an immediate readout. It did come with instructions. It has a cord you can plug in/out to the face with the readout. It wasn't very expensive from what I remember.

Hope that helps,

Where do you find this gadget. I will be starting to make the yogurt this weekend and am worried about the consequences if I don't get it right. It would be a shame to be on this restrictive diet and not get the benefits because I screwed up the yogurt temp!

I have a Euro Cuisine, but don't think that it requires water. Can you use the temp controller without water? All input appreciated.
