Yes, we perform with them all over the US in fairs, schools, festivals, and TV shows.. We live in WA state!

August 26 we will fly with them to appear on ABC News Good Morning America. We appear on national TV 6-8 times a year!

Keeps us busy.....our pigs are our family!

Medicare is a government program so there is no easy answer to your question. The official government site is http://www.medicare.gov/ and if you click on plan choices it will give you more information than you can possibly use so it really conveys very little information unless you study it very carefully. On the main page you can scroll down to Your Medicare Coverage and it provides a search tool to see what is covered and what is not. Remember that it is a government program so it is not permitted to be simple. The more complex it is the more government employees they can have to implement it. I have been on Medicare for about 8 years and I still get surprised at how they decide to pay or not pay for anything. Good luck and God bless.

PS I hope you're not on Methotrexate because you will need a stiff shot to counteract the daze caused by studying this.

PPS. OK, I'll try to be a little bit helpful. We pay 133.20 a month for my wife and me, and it comes off the top from our Social Security checks. We are on the old, original program that has maximum flexibility, minimum benefits, and highest cost. Last year our medical costs were $43,530.89 and Medicare approved $34,541.78 of this. Many of the providers accept what Medicare approves so they eat the difference, while others need to be paid for the full amount charged. Medicare paid $27,374.38 which left a balance of $7,955.15 for us and our secondary insurance to pay and we paid $1,408.80 for Medicare coverage. Because of my expensive medicatiosn we come out real well by being on Medicare. However, it is confusing.

I think you are eligible for Social Security based on the spouses share of your husband's Social Security. I don't really know how it works but my wife worked till our first child was born and then became a stay-at-home mom. I think she went on Social Security based on her own earnings before I retired and then when I retired her Social Security payments increases because she was my spouse. I think if she had no income of her own she would still get half of my Social Security benefit without decreasing my benefit any. You need to check with a Social Security office to make sure what you are entitiled to.

I'm pretty sure you can get Medicare even if you don't qualify for Social Security or if your benefit is not enough to cover the premiums. Also I think there are conditions under which the Medicare premiums are waived. Like I said, it's a government system so it doesn't have to make sense. God bless.

Dear Lyn- If you are disabled and unable to work, then you should apply for SSDI or social security disability. If your husband in divorcing you because you are sick then fight it. Get your lawyer to act and agree to a divorce only if certain conditions are met. One of those conditions might be to keep you as an existing family member on his tricare policy until such time as you can find and afford something of your own. Now that Medicare has part A, B and D which is drug coverage, there are limits which include denial across the board for all benzodiazapines and barbituates. Medicare part D starts 1/06. If you need to apply for disability, then have your lawyer help you there as well. If your husband is going to pay alimony, then a special stipend or allowance should be included to pay your tricare premium out of pocket as an individual. Divorce is devastating enough without worrying about tricare as a safety net. If you have no one else to care for you and you cant care for yourself, then make him pay for your upkeep. Period. End of story. Get your lawyer to make your tricare coverage a condition of your divorce my dear if at all possible. While I understand what it takes to care for someone who is disabled or chronically ill, and what a drain it can be to a spouse or partner, love and marriage mean in sickness and health, rich or poor. My partner and I have been together 3 years and counting, and we cant get married. Why? I am on disability, and get better coverage being on Medicare with all its limits than his Blue Cross Blue Shield. I cant afford to marry him. If you need to call Social Security, 1-800-772-1213. Tri care is the best insurance to have. Keep it at all costs. Email me off list if you have any questions. Hang in there, Deborah
