Guest guest
Lynn I am also a veteran and I retired as a civil service employee of the Veterans Administration. Most Va Medical Centers are affilliated with non VA medical centers in their local areas.Much of the research that is conducted in those centers is funded by the VA they also participate in the training of physicians in those centers. I am sure that they will be quite open to advice and consultation. It is popular to emphasize the occasiional negative things that may happen but in the main I am certain that your husband is in good hands. I wish you both the best. I am sorry that you are going through this, but I am thankful for the advice and caring. My husband is a veteran and that is his "medical insurance". Does anyone have experience with asking for 2nd opinions with the VA or dealing with the VA in general. We are fortunate that our VA is one of the best in the country, but I don't know how partial they are to getting the extra opinions.Thank you again,Lynn
