Guest guest
Jillian, I think because her date is so soon she will not listen to you, and even if she looked into the DS she would convince herself that she is doing the right thing. I don't think anything will stop her when her date is so close, I think if her date was 4 months away I would tell her. I don't think you are making the wrong choice. Rhonda M > Good luck to all those that are having surgery this week, this seems to be a busy month! > > I found myself in an interesting position today. A woman at work confided in me that she is planning to have wls (vertical band thing) in November. This woman is very outspoken and from what I can tell loose with information and not someone I would trust with the fact that I am having the DS in December. > > Well, anyway, she was going on and on about the fact that her procedure is the best, most advanced thing in weight loss surgeries since sliced bread. I couldn't help but think about all the revision posts I have read from people that had the banded procedure now wanting the DS. > > I didn't say a word to her and part of me feels guilty. I was standing there listening to her while thinking, " I can risk her telling the world if I share and inform her of what I have learned or just keep quiet. " I kept quiet. I think I did the right thing, but still feel kind of bad. I hope the procedure is successful for her and that her transition is a smooth one. > > Thanks for reading! > > Jillian > Chicago, IL > Dr. Hares > Pre-op BMI 59 > Surgery date 12/11 (day before my real b-day!)
