In fact, it's best if you're operating from one reservoir to hurry up and do it before the tip freezes up. Yes, do wipe any moisture off the connectors to both the portable and the canister before filling or you'll get stuck. It's best to wait half an hour after filling before using if you can... also to sit out on an open space. For sure after a portable's used, put it someplace you don't mind having a little puddle of water, because that will happen with the Companions.
