Guest guest
Hi Sheila, I did buy my over the counter stuff before I had surgery: Centrum (Costco) $12 a bottle? ADEK (cheaper at Costco than from Scandipharm.com) Citracal (Costco) $12 a bottle? I later bought DairyCare but have now switched to Pro-Biotics Acidophilus (14 billion good bacteria per capsule) and am having good luck with it. It's $20 at drugstore.com or $25 at GNC for 120 capsules and I take 2 in the AM and one in the afternoon. Blue label on the bottle, made by Nutrition Now, Inc. Doesn't have to be refrigerated and it's dairy free. Have thought about getting some of the refrigerated acidophilus but this kind is so much more convenient. I keep some in my purse for when I'm out and about, etc. I had started using the Cal Apatite (microcrystaline hydroxyapatite or something like that). It's an elemental form of calcium that we absorb very well and is what Dr. Hess recommends. It's $20 a bottle. Switched to the Citracal because it's cheaper and easier to find -- Costco carries it. I highly recommend having the multivitamin, calcium, ADEK and acidophilus or Dairy Care on hand before you have surgery. Hope this helps, Cheryl
