Guest guest
I am in the same boat. I just started back on methotrexate last week. The pharmacist told me there should be more in by today or tomorrow. This is annoying! Guest guest
I read a post from a few others about there being a shortage of methotrexate. Since I am suppose to restart Methotrexate. I checked with my local pharmacies and there is indeed a problem with the supplier in this area. Many pharmacies are completely out or are rationing to one vial at a time. Guest guest
it is the difference between night and day. i have a life again. might not be the most exciting. but i feel more fulfilled. plus i was at the other job 5 mos before this one. that first 6 weeks on mtx was not real good, but i am so glad i stuck it out. she offered it to me a couple years back, but the side effects scared me away. kathy in il

Guest guest
Wow Kathy, I can't believe it's been a year already! Time really flies. I can remember your life before mtx and it sure was a lot more painful. I'm happy to read about your improvements. a > yes the last vial i got was from another supplier. i was told to give a extra > day's ordering time. other than that i've had no problem. kathy in il > (wondering how i am going to do the parade on monday.) been at my job for 1 > year > now!!!! thanks to mtx!!! > > >

Guest guest
May I ask in what area you live? I'm in Western NY, and last time I had my MTX Rx filled I had to wait a few days to fill the total order. Fortunately I take a split dose of TABLETS within 24 hours, so they had it in in time for my second dose. They didn't say anything about a shortage, but this was the first time this had happened. I guess I should ask the pharmacist about possible supply problems. (in Western NY) aclavern33@... wrote: I read a post from a few others about there being a shortage of methotrexate. Guest guest
I am in Texas. I did not ask about the MTX pills. I was told the info about short supply of MTX injectable. No one has told me why...but here they are rationing it. Only giving you one vial at a time if they have that. I have chosen to wait. I was suppose to restart MTX injections....but due to the shortage and my stubbornness about the drug its self I am not taking it and will wait until the supply issues are resolved. Guest guest
Kathy, The side effects scare many people away, so don't feel bad. They hear cancer drug and immediately assume they are going to have all the side effects of chemo. It has helped so many people. It's great that you have a life again and you may not consider it exciting, but who knows what's in your future? a > it is the difference between night and day. i have a life again. might not be > the most exciting. but i feel more fulfilled. plus i was at the other job 5 > mos before this one. that first 6 weeks on mtx was not real good, but i am so > glad i stuck it out. she offered it to me a couple years back, but the side > effects scared me away. kathy in il > > >

Guest guest
Kathe, I can't find any info about a shortage of mtx. The FDA has a website that lists medications that have a supply problem, expected resolution etc. but mtx is not listed. I hope that means that whatever the problem is, it is temporary. If I find anything, I'll be sure to post it. http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/shortages/ a > Hi: > > I'm in southern CA and the last time I ordered my > injectable MX, it was indeed hard to get hold of.
