Guest guest
, I will be praying for you. This must all seem a little overwhelming right now. But you're a survivor, and you seem to have a good attitude about what you're facing, so I think you're going to be just fine. My Mom had thryoid cancer in the 60's, so I know a little of what you've been through. And it is probably the prednisone causing the diabetes, but again, what can you do if you need the pred for the AI diseases? This my friend is what is called a conundrum.... I spent a long time getting off the pred because of the flares, and it was almost always when it dropped below 20 mgs. As I wrote to Joyce, it is tough when the only choice seems to be a toxic drug. But hopefully you will both be more informed than I was when I started it. I am wishing the best for you, and praying that it all works out for your benefit and health. Please let me know what the Doc says and what you decide to do. Big hugs from Texas! Babs > > > > > > Just back from little trip to Alabama last week. Guest guest
Thanks Babs! For now I just feel the need to be informed about what others have gone through so I can be prepared for whatever. It is interesting that 20 mgs of Prednisone seems to keep coming up as I chat with people. For now I'm going to continue doing what I'm doing and get up every day for work and church and have lunch with my friends and enjoy my family. I always tell people every day we get up and breathe in and out is a good day. And I'm not going to stress too much over it. I'm going to be very care with diet and take the metformin correctly because I really don't want to have to take insulin. Isn't that interesting - I'm more worried right now about the insulin than the chemo. Huh. I need to think about that a while. THank you for all your prayers and kind words. You are appreciated. I hope you have a lovely Sunday tomorrow. S, Lubbock, TX NSIP w/PF 2006, Celiac, Type II diabetes > > > > > > > > Just back from little trip to Alabama last week. Guest guest
S, The doc told me the other day that 20mg was just ahead of what your body produced normally. So, my guess would be that they like to keep it at an even keel. I hate taking it. I can feel it at 20mg. I think you have a great plan for your life. I have lived 10 years since biopsy. If I had stopped living and sat waiting to die, I would have missed some of the sweetest moments of my life. Go for it! May God go with you. Guest guest
Yes, Peggy, I did get to church this morning. Then to a new Cuban Restaurant where my teenage grandson started working. Food not very good, but he looked so cute. He was so pleased that we came and introduced us all around. None of these kids are ashamed of the 02 thing. Nice morning, God is good. Tomorrow we will discuss the bed. I am tryng to be good for awhile.
