Sara,

Maybe orthothics (sp) would help your feet, your orthro or other doc should

be able to mold them to your boots instead of some other shoe that is

normally used. Might be worth a try.

I have problems with the top of my feet. At times they hurt to the point I

can't stand for anything to touch them. It's weird because I get this

terrible burning sensation.

You said you are on Aristocort, what is this? I've never heard of it? I'm

currently on Enbrel (just did my 4th shot this am), Arava and of course the

dreaded prednisone. I'm hoping the Enbrel will be the miracle for me that it

has been for so many others. Take care. Tery

Sara,

The cost to the insurance company should not be a concern of your doctors.

Getting the RA under control is most important, and finding what drug helps

you. It must be really hard to work all day in boots that hurt. Do you

have any alternatives to wearing them?

Sara,

My son was born with a club foot and the JRA has caused problems

for that foot so i took him to orthitics and the molded a AFO brace for him

with some padding in it for the pressure points. He complains of lots of pain

and burning is parts of his foot. Walking can increase this pain and burning.

The AFO fits around his foot and inserts into his shoe he also has a larger

AFO that the smaller one fits into for more support because that leg is

weaker then the other and both fit into the shoe and also have a lift on it

because his leg is 1/2 inch shorter. Don't know if any of this would be a

help to you but maybe it might. Good luck.

Sara,

Welcome to the list. I am glad you found us. If we have knowledge as

patients we have more control over the disease and that is good for anyone.

12 hours on your feet - i hurt just reading about it.

I have been on Enbrel shots for about 6 weeks now. Along with 20 mg prednisone a day. I don't know if the symptoms I have been experiencing lately is from RA or fibromyalgia. Anyone up tonight?
