To wit, a higher level of late life fractures in areas with fluoridated water (natural or added). All sorts of other things... least of which is the lack of enthusiasm for fluoridation from some of the largest water companies in the UK who, least of all, don't relish the court cases from adversely affected parties. And who all (apparently) have research to support the case against fluoridation. -- Helen Armfield

We don't have any...and I did use fluoride drops with as my Mother took fluoride during pregnancy and gave it to my brother & me until our second teeth came through. I have no fillings and my brother has one, which could be co-incidence but I don't think so. ------------- I have never given mine drops on a regular basis, but they have all swallowed toothpaste. So far, DS1 has one filling, DS2 and DD1 have none and DD2 has a fissure sealant filling in one baby tooth. Her teeth are deeply fissured and very hard to clean. So why is the govt so keen on pushing fluoride, when presumably they know about the side effects, I wonder? Its something that has raised its head locally several times since we moved into this area, so I like to know the latest. Lesley

Could it be to save them feeling that they have to make dentists available to everyone on the NHS?
