That is a possibility. I really like this doc. She and I have been through a lot together in the past 6 years!

I know what you mean...my doc always asks me how long after I get up do my hands stay stiff.

I always say until I go to bed again. The stiffness and flexibility get better after a couple hours sometimes, but they never get really bendable.

Nothing is made very tight. My Dr said to me, you can squeeze it, it is okay. I just looked at her and said, this is it. That is as tight as it gets. lol Joanne

Hello,

Right after my birthday on March 1st I was suddenly unable to

make a fist, but before that, I was having a lot of weakness in my

hands and fore arms.

It wasn't until June 25th of this year and I started taking 15 mg

of Prednisone that I could close either of my hands.

That's almost 4 months of not being able to do anything except type and use a fork.

I had to give up doing almost everything and would sit in my chair and cry. Luckily I have relatives who were helpful.

I am still taking 15 mg of Prednisone and will be cutting back to

12.5 mg tomorrow.

I can make fists, although my left hand is really stiff and the left is

what flares up every weekend.

I have a lot of hobbies and do an awful lot around the house.

I gave up playing guitar and gardening, but I'll be damned if I'll give up anything else and put up with not being able to use my hands.

Becky
