Guest guest
we started giving my son potatoes after six months of being clear of symptoms including clean blood work. no problems so far.adam Adam owCowell ('97)UR-Delaware1156 High StreetSanta Cruz, CA 95064 (fax)davidow@... I have the 12th edition and it says "potatoes, yams, parsnips, okra, chickpeas, bean sprouts, turnips, mugbeans, soybeans, (may be tried after considerable improvement.)" although it it listed under Not Permitted. So it is kinda confusing. Am I reading this correctly? Or is it just turnips that can be tried? Experienced SCDers, please advise. Thanks! No, those are **not** okay to try while on the diet, they are illegals. Though after you've healed completely, after being on the diet a few years, one might be able to reintroduce them if so minded. I have a different edition than you, so don't see what passage you are referring to about the turnips. Though I believe turnips were originally legal, and then after hearing back from the various lists, she realized that enough people were having trouble with them that they became illegal. Yes, here it is on the list: Illegal In the most recent printing of BTVC (Ninth Printing - May 2002), turnips were moved from the 'allowed' list to the 'not allowed' list.
