Guest guest
Hi Orlinda I don't think there's a standard order for introducting fruit juices. It's going to be an individual choice, and you might find some fruits, even though juiced, cause problems for you at different times. I make my own juices, and found that once I developed my upper GI disorders, I had to start from scratch figuring out which fruits would be tolerated, and which wouldn't. First I had to significantly dilute my juices, way beyond the norm; and also strain the juice two times (can't handle fiber anymore). I generally dilute by 500%; that is, 5 cups of water to 1 cup of juice. I still get surprising reactions to fruits I'd had all my life. I found apple juice (diluted) was the first juice I could tolerate, and it's one I use the most. Orange juice (really diluted and strained) is also well-tolerated, so I have it often. All the other fruits I use to juice are in the category of once-in-a-while, depending on whether my stomach, Sphincter of Oddi or my immune system objects -- and whether the fruit is too sweet which throws off my yeast levels if I have it too often. So, just give diluted fruit juices a try depending on what appeals to you, and how your body tolerates it. And, of course, make sure there are no illegals or hidden additives; but it sounds like you're prepared on that front! Kim M. Are there any other good ones to start out with? I know it has to be diluted and I have a copy of the legal ones.
