Guest guest
Just to let you know, the pelvic/perineal pain my husband had and is experienciing for almost 2 months, is called Pudendal Neuropathy! It is just too long of diagnosis to explain...but if you google it you will find all out about this! I was the first person to find it in my husbands case. They thought he had RSD...! A " psychological problem " ! After having the RPP surgery Feb. 15th, and some post op complications, he finally got the catheter removed after 7 weeks. From about a week post surgery, much PRESSURE was experienced...and as he describes, " Feels like someone was putting their fist up his rectum " . This pressure eventually developed into burning, searing pain that can be agrivated by sitting! About 3 months post op surgery, and after visiting Univeristy of Michigan Neurology, and then a trip to Minnesota to meet the famed Dr. Antelok, who once worked at Mayo Clinic....Pudendal Neuropathy was diagnosed! Just too exhausted to even describe the journey...but IF YOU GET PAIN in the pelvic area after surgery, or are experiencing it now...Please check this out. It is also common in bicyclist and people who over use certain pelvic muscles. Midwest Michigan does not really know much on this. You will probably be referred to a psychiatrist, psychologist or put on massive doses of pain pills before YOU finally find someone who believes you, and can diagnose it. I am going to start a support group here in Michigan...as it can truly be a LIFE CHANGING diagnosis!

That was a pretty disturbing story and can illustrate what can happen when a doctor doesn't know what your problem is and therefore determines that it must not be a real problem. Maybe there are some kind of arrogance pills that they hand out in medical school. Thanks for telling us about this and for trying to reach out to others.
