Dear ,

I can't address the health issues which you face in deciding to have a

child, I can only give you a generalized view of being a parent.

Being a parent is the most satisfying, and crazy-making thing I have

ever done. I had my children late in life, being 34 when the first was

born, and 42 with the second. But it was the thing I wanted most. They

make you crazy (as I write this, they are chasing each other, and

destroying my home), but they also give you unconditional love that you

will never have ANYWHERE else. I would not trade them for anything,

although at the moment I wish I could tone down the ear-peircing

squeals.

Have to go take the baby to her very first swim lesson!
