Hi - I think you have to figure out what is " normal " for her and use

that as her baseline. only poops once a day -- always right after

supper. It is always formed and never floats (gross I know). She has only

had a few episodes of diarrhea and that is when we changed her enzymes. She

is on 3 Creon 10's with meals and 2 wit snacks. But if we do not use her

Colace on a regular basis then she starts having small accidents in her pants

and can go days without going then we give her Lactulose. Just keep an eye

on her and note any change. Take care.

I am wondering if all kids with CF have problems with constipation

because our 6yr. old with CF still has very soft stools, about 2 times a

day. Does this mean that she still is not getting the right amount of

enzymes? She already takes 3 MT-20's with each meal, plus 1/2 a pepcid,

morning and night. Sorry to be so blunt with the question but I am

really curious to know:)

Thanks for your help, and this is a wonderful group!!!

Hi ,

is only 15 months, but she also has soft stools one or twice a day.

We collected her stools for three days and brought them to the hospital for

examination. The result was that she had the right level of enzymes (1

creon caps/meal).

I guess, the best way to find out is to do a three-day collection ...
