Guest guest
Hi Peggy, I can sympathize with you - due first to an old running injury, but also to RA my feet give me lots of problems. I have to wear custom orthodics all the time and can't walk barefoot or wear sandals. For the running/walking shoes, I would recommend that you go to a running specialty store and take your old paid with you. The sales people in those stores are usually really knowlegable about shoes, and can look at the wear patterns on your old soles which will help them suggest the right shoe for you. (Personally, I need something with a lot of stability, even with my orthodics). When it comes to supportive and comfortable shoes for winter, I'd suggest looking at Rockport, s or SAS. They aren't always the most stylish, but are well made, supportive and cushioned. Good shoes aren't cheap, but your feet will thank you for the investment! Guest guest
Peggy, I got some slip on soft mesh flexible shoes from Merrell at a sporting goods store. I found some tennis shoes in catalog they make that I want to try. I have crooked toes and these are the most comfortable ones I have found. I paid $70 for them. The tennis shoes are priced at $130 in catalog. I was told they make hiking boots and foot doc told me I need something like that with " boat " action that will not bend my toes when I walk. The bottom is like rubber that keeps my toes from bending much when I walk. But the top is soft and stretchy.
