Like food, how much probiotics to take is an individual choice/decision. It all depends on how your body is tolerating it and in what form and what healing stage you're in.

The general rule is to either eat yogurt regularly that includes Acidophilus as one of the 3 strains or use a legal Acidophilus supplement. Some people with UC also find that S. Boulardii is helpful in addition to or instead of Acidophilus. People who are allergic or ultra-sensitive to dairy skip the yogurt and just take a legal Acidophilus supplement.

It's a good thing to get in some probiotics regularly, but you don't want to overdo things either since you can get an overgrowth of good bacteria as easily as bad. A lot depends on whether you're on antibiotics or an antifungal, and where you are in your healing process. Early in your healing you need more probiotics than afterwards when you just need a maintenance dose.

Sounds like you're doing just fine taking half a Lyosan in the morning and half at night. You don't need a lot of yogurt in addition to the Lyosan or another acidophilus supplement.

All depends on how you're feeling. There's no one rule for taking probiotics.
