About 4 days ago I wrote an extensive piece on the advanced prostate cancer blog about provenge, its approval and related information.  I believe the post will bring you up to date on the current status and projections.

You can read it at: http://advancedprostatecancer.net/?p=1419#more-1419 or go to the blog at www.advancedprostatecancer.net.  It is the fourth story from the most current entry.

I've been trying to follow this and it looks like the FDA will either make it's decision before May first or on May first, depending on the source. I guess we'll find out then. Apparently Dendreon has been gearing up for production. Most all the articles I've been able to find are for stock-market speculators. I'd sure like to give it a try, since Casodex is no longer effective in controlling my PSA.

Anybody know anything new?

,

The prior trails to this in animals-side effects and percentage of PCa cells or PSA afterward?

I might be interested. I have done any of so am not sure how this would effect my long term survivability if it does not work.

Tom,These are the type of questions that you would need to ask the trial investigators and then discuss completely with your own doctors prior to making any decision about participating in any type of clinical trial.  Here are the contacts for the trial

(This trial is a Phase I Randomized Pilot Study of Epitope-Enhanced TARP Peptide Vaccine Versus TARP Peptide-Pulsed Dendritic Cells in Patients with Biochemically Progressing Stage D0 Prostate Cancer (NCI-09-C-0139)

V. Wood, M.D.Lead Associate InvestigatorPhone: woodl@...

Referral Contact(s): Roberson, R.N., O.C.N. Research NursePhone: broberson@...
