I remeber the time my sister 'lost' her hamster. He could climb out of his cage and make off when he felt like it. Luckily we had no cats but Evie was on a knife edge and so was my Dad, imagining all sorts of damage to the wiring. It was the carpet that suffered. He set up home under her bed and made himself a nest out of the carpet. He actually nibbled a hole about a foot across. Dad went ballistic, then clained onthe insurance and cut the bedroom carpet down for the bathroom and the downstairs toilet, thus saving himself a fortune !!! Chickens don't do that sort of damage !!!

LOL this reminds me of the scholl gerbil that escaped on the last day before 1/2 term....after all the Y6 and staff hunting high & low he was given up for lost.. Over 1/2 term the burglar alarm kept going off for no reason, Dep Head was understandably annoyed and spending her hol waiting for engineers/police at school... After the third alarm triggered from the same place onthe circuit, and the obvious like open windows/swingindoors (or mobiles hanging in classrooms which had been the case on other occassions)being eliminated, they investigated the area further and found -yes you guessed, a very comfy gerbil, amusing himself by nibblingthe wires!! How he survived???!!! Angi
