Bruce/Prozac

I stumbled across something in " Chest " about 10 years ago about

Prozac causing PF. At that time there were only two patients and no

trials, strictly anecdotal. I asked my lung doc about it at the time

and he looked it up and came back and said " you better try something

else " . I did and not with a great deal of success. Eventually I

returned to prozac. I remember the doc saying " this is a life

threatening illness " and I cried out " so is depression! " lol I have

never seen anything else tying the two together. We all just grasp

at straws and hope we get the longest.

Well, and now her doctor is saying PAH. I don't think some doctors

understand what a trial and error effort finding an anti-depressant

is. There is no understanding just among the three SSRI's of why one

works for one patient and another for another patient. I was never

able to tolerate either of the three. Seems to be that for someone on

Imuran and Prednisone, Prozac would have far less adverse effect.

It's just that if needed, the effort to go from Prozac to another

anti-depressant is quite major and entails a lot of risk.
