Guest guest
Hi everyone who added their pennyworth to the subject. It would seem that there is quite a difference in charges probably depending on where you live Hourly charges seem to vary between £2.20 and £4.00, so I guess the £3.50 charge I have been quoted is quite high, but I do live near Dorking which is the top end of the scale. - Hmmmm! I am so glad you have all confirmed the pay during your own holidays, sickness scenario. Fortunately my DH asked a lady at his work and got the same answer so he seems more accepting now. I guess it is the price you pay for a reliable c/m as opposed to a more casual arrangement which I have had over the last year. Hi , glad it is not just me who has a c/m when I am a SAHM. I used to live in Bromley and the social services arranged FREE c/m for me to help with the PND (a day off did ease the condition). When we moved to Surrey their Social Services didn't have the same arrangements, so I had to sort it out for myself and pay. I think I have been feeling very guilty about paying for it due to my DH's attitude to everything, I mean:- 1) initially he didn't think that one child would warrant being a SAHM anyway (I went on a career bridge and when my first year was up and I had arrange the 2 weeks back in the office and we had moved house further away I just couldn't face it and gave up altogether) 2) he didn't like the thought of me " partying " all day at open-houses - but now realises DS needs the social situations just as much as me. 3) then to pay for a c/m as I couldn't cope with being a SAHM I think I am at last getting to grips with it all (with the help of Saint 's Wort) What a minefield motherhood is! the grateful and http://www.gregorian.demon.co.uk/
