I have discovered that massaging my wrists and hands first thing in the morning

really makes a difference in how fast the stiffness goes away. Has anyone else

seen this? I am so new to this. First thing in the morning, when the splints

first come off, my hands and wrists are really sore and stiff. Massaging really

seems to help.

Yes--I do self-massage most mornings (beginning with my feet before I

stand up). Hands, too. I began doing it instinctively, but recently

have seen this recommended as part of " restoring vata balance " in the

ayurvedic healing system, and have begun to do a full body self

massage with warm sesame oil (said to have anti-inflammatory effect)

in the bathroom before my shower. Then I put on some loose (old)

p.j.s and have breakfast while the oil sinks in (about 15 min.) Then

I shower. I find it helpful.
