Guest guest
I can not tell if it has made me better or not. I feel great and don't seems to have any side effects from it. 30 mg daily is my dosage and I know I feel great. I have lots of energy but when I am working around the house, I tire easily or actually it is " getting winded " so badly, I have to sit down and grab ahold of a table or couch or something. Don't have an oximeter so can't tell what is going on there. I just know when I have to sit down. You know what is an eery feeling? When I go to retirement communities with my daughter to hear her sing sometimes, of course most of them are in their 80-95 range or lower (I am 73) these folks seem healthy and can get around pretty good by themselves with no help, and there I am in the back of the room crying silently because I just don't get it. Why am I, the young one, with the oxygen on so I can breathe and these others don't know what it is like not to be able to breathe without help. I know our disease is horrid, but then when I think that I can drive and shop and get out when I want and these folks can not. So there ya' go!!!! Guess God has a plan for all of us and I am so grateful that He is in control of mine. My pulmo has had me on this Tussin Codiene liquid med for several weeks now to help with the congestion in my lungs along with mucinex twice daily. I call the tussin stuff " my happy juice " . But it does not make me happy though. I am right in the middle now of men pounding on my kitchen floor, ceiling and walls to replace the sheet rock, sub flooring and cabinets and everything in our apt here. Am getting new oak cabinets, etc. as these got really wet a few weeks ago and are 50 years old. The original ones. We have lived in these apt here for 12 years and really like it. I have found that with this IPF, and the meds I am on that noise really bothers my ears something fierce. It makes me quiver with loud noise and can't stand it. It really hurts my senses. Don't know why. Bruce, I did the Prednisone poll of yours. I see you have had some responses to it. I don't know what to expect from the prednisone. Only thing I know is the tussin is very very addictive if you stay on it, so I had better call pulmo tomorrow. I am still taking the antibiotic every other day and as long as I am on the prednisone, I have to take the antibiotic. Love, Mlp
