Guest guest
Hi Diane, I'm sure you want to let this go, but being me I have to throw my 2 cents into the ring... You can cheerfully bash the USA's healthcare system and I'll be right beside you, bashing it too! Our healthcare in this country SUCKS! The insurance companies are nothing but corporate gluttons and red tape, and a whole lotta BS. I've sat in ER's for hours, with and without insurance, and been treated just as horribly regardless of my insurance situation. One time I just finally left because we couldn't get anyone to even take my bp or my temp. THAT was a fun night.... My daughter's friend just had the most horrific experience in a local hospital. Too long of a story for this forum, but I think she has grounds for a lawsuit. My own daughter just underwent the whole ER experience last fall and would tell you that the way she was treated bordered on inhumane..and she has insurance! God forbid you end up in the hospital in this country without insurance because they really don't care then, and keep asking about the money over and over. I'm surprised the Doc's and nurses don't work with a portable credit card machine in their pockets. And, I know, I know, the Docs and Nurses work hard. My brother was a Doc and my sister is a nurse. My brother was rich, and my sister struggles....that speaks volumes right there. The money this country spends on a needless war would go a long way toward healthcare reform...and that's as political as I will get and I apologize if I offended anyone. Anyway, my long diatribe was to let you know that I agree with you, we can't generalize about one country without looking into our own backyard....and what I see in our backyard in this country regarding health care, well, it ain't pretty. Please don't censor yourself or worry about having to do so. Anything that we experience regarding this disease should be shared, the good, the bad and the ugly. Big hugs from the Lone Star State! Guest guest
AMEN.... Just the things that happened during my stay for my VATS, that were such signs when all added up of how sloppily the so-called best Heart Hospital here was being run. How about the Dennis Quaid thing where his twins and two others were given 1000 times the proper dosage of blood thinner? My anger in general is when I see those struggling so with such difficult medical conditions and then having to suffer more and exert more energy to get what either they paid insurance for or their government promised to them. It just shouldn't be that way. It's not fair. Ok, I was told long ago that life isn't fair, but still I don't accept it. I can accept my disease. But, accepting struggles to get care for it, something under human control, is much more difficult for me. > > > > > > Oh No, Are you in contact by phone?
