Please don't keep your remarks to yourself. They were very valid

points and why I asked to learn more about New Brunswick in

particular. Now if you made remarks about US Health Care in General I

would agree with them. ly I find it pretty disgusting in many

respects too. Most specifically its being driven by the insurance

companies. As a result doctors are having less and less time to spend

with and communicate with their patients. In the US hospital errors

are up dramatically and well hidden, staph infection in hospitals is

more rampant than known.

My disappointment was frankly that I hoped to find Canada better. I

have friends in the UK and hoped to find it better. Worldwide we

research and develop new techniques but basic patient care isn't what

I wish it was. I expect it to get much worse in the US, frankly, as

insurers continue to apply pressure to cut costs. I'm sure Canadian

provinces continue to search for ways to maintain budgets.

I can read from a distance about quality health care in countries

I've never been to, but I suspect if one were there we'd find the

same issues.

I'm thrilled to hear you're getting quality care and would like to

know more about the quality in your province. Maybe it would be a

good example as to the right way to do things. We sure need one.

If you took my comments as an attack on Canada and everything

Canadian and all Provinces and all Health Care then I apologize. But,

I had a very important friend going through hell and it hurt. I was

equally livid last week about Apria and Cigna and oxygen in the US.

Now there are those who get good service from Apria. But as long as

they were treating Joyce and as they were, that was my only

thoughts regarding them.

As to Canada I would love to visit there and I long ago did even

consider what it would be like to live there. So many wonderful

things. Many things in this country I'm not too pleased with.

There are certain states and areas in the US where I wouldn't live

today because of the health care. But I think highly of the people

and the areas. Unfortunately, they lag in terms of health care. It

doesn't mean I hate the state or the people. In fact, it means I wish

they had better because they deserve it. Same with education and

other issues.

Its your choice whether to keep your opinions to yourself but I

personally wish you wouldn't. I'll gladly take criticism for anything

I say offensive. I'll also continue to express my opinions. They will

at times be swayed by strong emotions as were yours.
