SUCKS

Sorry, but we talk about how it works in different places and

universal health care in the US and the PHC in England and the

Provinces in Canada and for it to be so advanced in some ways its so

terribly chaotic and sloppy and difficult.

We can replace knees and hips. But we still can't explain a disease

to the patient.

We can do transplants. But we still can't promptly get accurate

results from tests.

We can do quadruple bypasses. But we still can't get appointments

with our doctors in a reasonable time.

We do all sorts of testing including Nuclear, but doctors don't

routinely do a simple test with a $250 oximeter.

While I'm bothered by the lack of treatments and cure for PF, I'm not

nearly as bothered by that as I am by what I constantly see in

neglectful treatment of patients.

You know before this I looked at some of the places to retire, such

as the Caribbean, Panama, Costa Rico,Belize, Trinidad, other small

less costly and simpler places. But, I worried about medical care.

Now I truly wonder is the US, Canada, UK, or Australia any better

than say Panama?

Ok, why do I have the grumpies. Well, reading here today and then

hearing from Canada or a Primary Physician who when asked to do a six

minute walk doesn't have an oximeter and a Radiologist who read a CT

looking for the wrong disease even though it was said clearly to him

and even spelled out so then someone has to go around in circles to

get it fixed.

Then I remember one of the reasons I decided to continue to live in

Plano, Texas was the quality of medical care. Well, as I think about

it, I realize I vastly overrated it-the hospitals, the physicians,

everything.
