> Glad you're finding the information here of help -- we have a great bunch of people here.

Yes, Marilyn, this is a terrific bunch of people. Thank you, all!

I'm curious whether there has ever been a specific group for people with MCS, food sensitivities, and candida.

Yes, I've heard about some of the post-Katrina challenges regarding housing and it has horrified me. I'm so glad you are looking into environmentally healthy homes. Is your own home unsafe?

I lived in a moldy old house for 14 months (2005 to 2006) and that exasperated some of my health challenges. It also made me much more electro-magnetic sensitive.

Right now I'm renting a senior condo which has lots of fragrance, chemical, and smoke challenges. I had no place to live after I moved from the house, so I took what housing I could get. The owners moved into the house and renovated it immediately. I've been here for 18 months. I thought I'd be out of here long before now.

We've encountered many, many instances over the years of > health care practitioners who know OF the SCD, but don't know its details, who have prescribed something which set the person into a tail-spin.

I was with my ND yesterday and he has patients on SCD, but it's true that he didn't know much. He didn't know why rice would not be allowed, because he said it is an isolate and not a grain (if I understand correctly). I guess I'll need to look up the scientific explanation.

He was interested in the diet and might look up the websites. He knew of Elaine. He said that it's likely anti-aging! > Definitely continue taking your thyroid! The rest -- you may find that you do not need as much as your gut heals. That will be something to evaluate as you go > along, the same way you would evaluate the addition of a new food.

I reduced my thyroid (pork, I think) to 1/4 capsule for three days but I had icy extremeties and I think that I reacted to foods more because of lower thyroid and feeling as if I was fasting. I had blood sugar dips. Today I'm back to 1/2 capsule. However, I need to get up courage to phone my GP in order to get a refill and I"ll likely be told to come to his office, which I may not be able to do for sometime. Thyroid medication is a huge issue in our province. I used to be able to get T3 (cytomel) but I can't any more.

>How did the addition of zucchini go?

zucchini went fine. I think it is one of my best foods.
