Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone here has heard any more info about PTOV1 as a gene/protein expression of prostate cancer since the published research in 2008. I realize PCA3 has been somewhat cast a pall upon by the fact that interthelial neoplasia also expresses it to a very high level just as cancerous tissue does. Apparatently, PTOV1 is can distinguish between HGPIN that leads quickly to cancer versus HGPIN that does not. I have seen nothing further since that. Presumably, testing for PTOV1 in people with HGPIN indications in their biopsies would be a more accurate precursor measure than using PCA3 and would lead to either subsequent testing or a commercial test by now. Rich, I don't know the answer to your question but you might try posting it to the Usenet newsgroup " sci.med.prostate.cancer " . There's not much activity there but there are some people who are more knowledgeable about the science than most of us. Alan
