Yes, I can understand the principle of what they might be aiming at with this kind of approach and there have been literally thousands of papers published on genes and genome – most of them bait for funding, I feel. But I have not yet seen, as far as I know anything that says that a definitive test, proved by the relevant studies, is available that distinguishes aggressive from non-aggressive types of this disease of ours. One of the studies I read recently said that there were at least 25 variants that had been genetically identified, of which only one was very aggressive, but that was on laboratory tests and it seemed likely that it would be many years before any substantive test was available. Way too complicated for me to understand but they take a sample and compare it to other PCa victims to get an estimate of how aggressive the cancer might be. You are the one individual who makes me feel better as I have followed a similar path to yours without much support from within or without the system. I too have often felt like an island as my personal philosophical approach does not involve so much a fear of dying as it does for living in the struggles and joys of the moment.
