Thanks for that.

Yes, I can understand the principle of

what they might be aiming at with this kind of approach and there have been

literally thousands of papers published on genes and genome – most of

them bait for funding, I feel. But I have not yet seen, as far as I know

anything that says that a definitive test, proved by the relevant studies, is available

that distinguishes aggressive from non-aggressive types of this disease of

ours. One of the studies I read recently said that there were at least 25

variants that had been genetically identified, of which only one was very

aggressive, but that was on laboratory tests and it seemed likely that it would

be many years before any substantive test was available.

I've been reading of something like this. Has to do

with DNA testing. Way too complicated for me to understand but they take a

sample and compare it to other PCa victims to get an estimate of how aggressive

the cancer might be.

Terry,

Thanks for your input and tireless research. I first came across

your site years ago. You are the one individual who makes me feel better as I

have followed a similar path to yours without much support from within or

without the system. I too have often felt like an island as my personal philosophical

approach does not involve so much a fear of dying as it does for living in the struggles

and joys of the moment.

I have a compendium of your responses...makes me feel less

alone.
