Guest guest
Oh Pam! Poor Dinos..... Have you tried any of the tricks from the first episode of him pulling out? I heard you got a few suggestions; are you doing up the strap first? Then the laces? What about adding in additional plastizode pieces under the tongue and/or the inside of the sides of the shoe? Does your Ortho there have that material? Are you ensuring that when his foot is placed in the shoe that it is seated flat against the bottom and snug up to the back? (I'm sure you are, but I have to ask) Did you check any previous posts about fitting the shoes? I think I may have mentioned before that there is one link that I put on in the link section about how 'we' ensured a snug fit. It is what worked for us. If you've tried all those things, then maybe it's time to get creative (that is given Dinos' foot IS corrected). Who's to say you can't invent some different way of ensuring that his foot won't slip out. Talk it over with Dr. P and best of luck to you all!! Guest guest
Hello, I am glad to hear from you. Maybe you could find some Foot Cushion Strip Adhesive Padding and cut out a pad to add to the insert that is in the shoe at the heal. This has helped Zach keep his shoes and heal in place. It costs about one dollar at a pharmacy. It seems to be the same as the insert that the orthopedic shoe place uses and has really made a difference in zach keeping his shoes on. Best of Luck. Do not give up you have invested many hours in this treatment for Dino and in years to come he will be grateful to have had such a wonderful parent. Guest guest
Pamela, You and Dino are in our thoughts and prayers. We are sorry to hear that he is still slipping out of the shoes.... How ever we are thrilled that Dino's feet look good and that he is happy most of the time while in the shoes. I hope that Dr's Felman and Ponseti have some useful tips for you. Guest guest
Kathy, Good idea; thanks for the suggestion. Sounds similar to something I did tonight with some adhesive Mole Skin, and it seems to be working! Take care, Pamela Karydas > Hello, > I am glad to hear from you.
