Bruce, just a little about elevated liver enzymes, many times the tests show

elevated enzymes because the liver seems to think it has been injured and

then works to rebuild and replace itself. The liver is one of the very few

organs that can do this. Could the pancreas malfunction cause the liver to

think it was injured, I think that's possible as both organs share or come

very close to sharing a common duct to the small bowel. Also if the liver is

showing unusual enzyme levels, what can anyone do about it? If the liver is

not really ill but just thinks it's ill then the proper course is most likely

to do nothing. If the liver is really ill then as I said it's one of the few

organs that can repair itself and again the proper course is to do nothing.

Funny thing about a liver most times you just leave it alone, can't take it

out, in a pinch you can cut some away without much harm, you don't have a

spare, and I don't think there is much chemical therapy that can be done.

Just a few thoughts. Ponch

The high triglycerides is what was causing my pancreatitis. I have a

mutant gene that causes my trigylcerides to go high which in turn

causes a pancreatic flare-up. I am under control now with Tricor and

it took 5 years to get this discovered and about 8 different docs.

I will probably go to getting checked every three months now since

they have stayed normal a few months.... >>

Hi !

That is weird-they only check my tri's every three months and they are still

up at 1000. When I first go out of the hospital, they were checking them

every month and they were more normal then-like 300's. Maybe I should ask my

doctor to keep a closer eye on them than just every three months do you think?

Appreciate you imput!

Hi !

Glad you had a good time this week-end. I did the same about 3 week-

ends ago. I went to Busch Gardens with my family and got me one of

those motorized carts and watched everyone have a good time. It was

the first I had been out with my family in 2 years. It made feel

alive again and part of the human race.

As far as the triglycerides, the docs just discovered that mine were

real high when I was hospitalized in March. I was there for 1 month

and since I've been released I have been getting them checked every

month, they have been normal for the past 2 months. I have not had a

severe attack since then, although I did have the nerve burn done and

that has stopped a lot of my pain. I will probably be checked every

3 months after my next check in Sept. I am so glad they found this

and I'm under control with it.....Your Panc Pal...
