Guest guest
I don't want you to have to see your doc on Friday either, Tess. I hope you can make some big progress by then. Guest guest
I hope the medicine the Dr prescribed helps you Anita......Joyce ----- Original Message ----- From: Anita ez Undisclosed-Recipient:; Sent: Tuesday, October 05, 2004 2:17 PM Subject: dr. appt. Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing well. I thought I would tell everyone how my first Rheumatologist appt. went yesterday. I do have RA in both of my hands. All my joints in my fingers and in my wrists are severely inflamed. All the other pain is either from Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Lupus or something other or a combo of these things. We will know more after I take a sleep test and a bone scan sometime soon. The doctors office is suppose to call me with the appt's. He gave me 3 Rx's. Flexeril- muscle relaxer, Plaquenil- arthritis med. and Loricet- pain med. I sure hope once i get started on these good the pain will go away for good. I am sooooooo tired of being in pain all the time. The Dr. did give me samples of the Flexeril and I took them before I went to bed along with my sleeping pill and I slept all through the night for the first time in years! Still exhausted today and in some pain, but I am hoping and praying the new med's work. I know I have the give the Plaquenil time to build up in my system. Does anyone take this? If so, how has it worked for you and do you have any side effects from it? Thanks everyone for you nice words of encouragement and prayers for this past couple of bad weeks we have been having. Still not sure if we are going to lose our home yet or not. I hope not. I will talk to everyone later. I hope everyone is doing well. Anita ez Swaps4meandU Owner Group I love Stewie!! Guest guest
Anita, I take Plaquenil and do not feel any side effects from it. The only thing is that every six months I have to go to an opthamologist to get my eyes tested for fluid build up which if undetected can lead to blindness. That happens rarely but it is always best to get it checked out if you are on it long term. Were you told about this? The only thing I have noticed for myself was the increased sensitivity to lthe sun but then I am on 3 meds that do that so it is hard to say which is the cause of that. Good luck with all of your meds and I hope you are better able to control the pain. Anita ez wrote: > */Hello everyone,/* > */ I hope everyone is doing well. Guest guest
Anita, Glad you got some meds to help and hope they kick in for you soon. I did take plaquenil a short time but had trouble with severe headaches behind my eyes. It is actually a malaria drug that they found works well for rheumatoid arthritis in some folks. Hope it helps you and best of luck, Kay ----- Original Message ----- From: Anita ez Undisclosed-Recipient:; Sent: Tuesday, October 05, 2004 2:17 PM Subject: dr. appt. Guest guest
Hi Anita, I was on Plaquenil - it worked great for me for just over 3 years (just came off it in August). I remember it did take a couple of weeks (2-3) for it to build up in my system but once it did I felt like I wasn't sick at all. I hope it works for you, being in pain all the time can just wear you down both physically and mentally. Hopefully you can get more full nights of sleep. It's amazing how much a good night of sleep can help. Meantime, I will think good thoughts for you! Take care, Carol > Hello everyone, > I hope everyone is doing well. Guest guest
Last Wed I went for my Neuro appt. and told her I'm off all meds and started LDN. Since she wouldn't prescribe it, I went and got a phone consult and got it. She was impressed by how well I am doing, since meds did nothing for me except bring me down. I have been on Betaseron, Avonex, Avonex & Copaxone together, Avonex twice/week, Copaxone, Rebif, Mitronovantrone, and Tysabri (one month). I was dx'd 10 yrs ago and have done all that with no results, but continued progression. The Tysabri brought on such a bad attack, I said that's enough. Besides the LDN, I am taking lots of vitamins and supplements. U
Guest guest
Well done , What changes did you see, and how long have you been on LDN now. Also how long had it been sense you had seen the Nero before this last trip? Thanks Aletha Re: [low dose naltrexone] Dr. Appt. Guest guest
Aletha, I saw my neuro back in December. I have only been on LDN for one month. I haven't noticed any symptom changes as of yet. My emotional state seems to be better. I will go see the LDN Dr. on March 7. My legs seem real stiff so I'm going to ask him if I should go down to 3.0 mg. I am now taking 4.5 mg. How are you doing? U
Guest guest
When I started taking ldn I started with 1.5 mg capsules.(100 of them). Then I could experiment with different doses by taking 1, 2 or 3 capsules. I finally settled on 3mg. Your body will tell you what is best for you. I think the mental clarity and calmness is a great benefit from ldn. That is the first thing that I noticed. I did not have miracle healings from ldn, but that is not the promise of this drug. I have had better endurance. I will continue on ldn and glyconutrients. Re: [low dose naltrexone] Dr. Appt. Aletha,I saw my neuro back in December. I have only been on LDN for one month. Guest guest
Carole . . . If I were you, I'd avoid putting pressure on either of your breasts until after explant . . . Just knowing that the capsule and implant have been punctured today, is enough to set off alarms for me. . . Being clear doesn't necessarily mean that there aren't organisms there that you wouldn't want traveling around in your body. Do you mind telling us who the doctor is? I used to live in Arlington. He drew the liquid out of the one that was all hard and sore and I feel better already. Now it matches the deflated side and they feel good. What he took out was clean and clear looking which made me feel good that it wasn't pond scum like some of what I have seen. I think I will celebrate by sleeping on my stomache tonight, something I haven't been able to do for 10 years. I'll let you know how it all goes. Guest guest
I know the area! . . . My explanting surgeon was near there . . . I don't recommend him because the last I heard he still did not remove capsules. . . I believe the Lord was holding his hands when he removed mine because I didn't have a clue about what to ask for. We've been needing a surgeon in Fort Worth . . . Please let us know how everything goes. We'd love to be able to recommend him. Hugs, Rogene Carole <carole293@...> wrote: His name is Heistein.
