Guest guest
Gentlemen, A recently diagnosed PCa patient, I'm at point of choosing my poison. Stats: Age 69, Stage T2b, Gleason 3+4, and PSA 5.5 rapidly rising (doubled in four months), I'm ruling out the surgery, leaving me to the " freezing or burning " methods, as my doc says. (Next week I'm getting a bone scan. I'm told the odds of finding cancer there are very low.) My doc advises against the seeds for my moderately high stage. He says they don't work so well. I'm not keen on the primary hormonal therapy. This leaves 1) external radiation or 2) the cryogenic treatment, aka cryoablation. My doctor is an academic, professor and chair of his department. He likes the cryo; it's his specialty. He's been doing them since 1993. You're in and out in one day, and if it doesn't work, you can try again. He says they work. Have any of you guys had experience with the cryoablation treatment? Or know someone who has. Thanks, all,
