Contact the manufactures of Cialis and

explain your situation. I had a similar problem when I was prescribed

Muse and the manufacture was willing to give me a subsidy to cover the costs.

I also was prescribed Viagara we split the pills to extend the prescription.

The insurance situation is a problem with this issue. It didn’t

really help me, my cancer was spread so far that they took a wide path while

removing the gland. Chances of a full recovery are non existent for

me. The only choice is got is an implant at a latter date so we stopped

that theropy.

Your thoughts on Cialis 5mg

I had prostatectomy surgery on Oct. 5, 2010. (See post

# 26894 for history.)

My Urologist has prescribed Cialis 5mg as an aid to promote blood flow. I

lobbied my insurance company to lower the co-pay with an exception for medical

condition vs. " performance issue " . My insurance company maintains

that low dose Cialis has not been proven effective to promote blood flow. I

must pay full co-pay which, for all intents and purposes, is full ammount.

Question: your thoughts on whether one could be benifited by low dose Cialis in

the post operative phase?

Question: if Cialis is determined to be a valid modality by my brothers here,

has anyone ever purchased via internet from Canadian pharmacies? They are

cheaper.

Dr. " Snuffy " Myers addresses the issue of benefit in the

following blog entry:

http://askdrmyers.wordpress.com/

Look for the video on that page entitled " Fixing Impotency " . Dr.

Myers thinks it does help, and also suggests other techniques

that are worth considering. Interestingly, he thinks that Kegel

exercises should be the first thing to try, and cock rings are

the second.

I seem to recall a video in which he said that some of his

patients were able to bring printouts of studies showing benefit

to their insurance providers and get exceptions to the rule. It

wouldn't surprise me if the insurers would automatically say no

unless and until someone proves there is documentation for the

benefit. Then they might relent for that patient but continue to

deny others. In other words, they sometimes put up barriers that

they're willing to lower in individual cases while still holding

their costs down by keeping their general rule in place.

As for how to get impotence drugs cheaply, there are good sources

in India. One is www.alldaychemist.com. They say they won't

sell generic Cialis in the US but will sell generic versions of

the drugs in Viagra and Levitra (Dr. Myers says his patients seem

to like Levitra best). Prices are much lower than in the US.

Are the Indian pharmacies reliable? I'm not an expert on that

but we once ordered another drug from India and it came well

packaged, with patient information, from a major Indian

pharmaceutical company. My wife needed the drug and reported

that its effects and side effects seemed identical to the

American brand.

To our surprise, the drugs were shipped from Germany. Delivery

took quite a while (several weeks IIRC) after our order.

Interesting (to me, anyhow) side note: on certain med packaging

from my friendly local pharmacy, I have noted that the

manufacturer is listed as the same company as is shown as the

source of the same med from All Day Chemist.

But the latter is a violation of import laws if mere citizens do

it, 'tis said. That does not seem to be a problem, though. I

understand that if Customs opens the package (very unlikely),

they confiscate and destroy the med, and send the addressee a

" naughty naughty! " note.

Then order a replacement.

Anyhow, that's what I've heard. No warranty that it's correct.

I have personally found the low-dose Cialas 5mg to be enormously effective, and the sooner you start with it, the more likely that you will not to have to use it for a lifetime. It also has the welcome benefit of reducing urinary frequency and urgency, without the unwelcome side effects of the Toviaz, Visicare, Detrol and the likes. There is a tremendous video on the Memorial Sloan-Ketterying Websites that give convincing arguments for daily use of the 5 PDE inhibitor class of madications.

I've been taking 100 mg of sildenafil, every second day. On the "off days", I use injections. www.emedicine. comAnd read the best book on sexual function after prostate-cancer treatment:"Saving Your Sex Life: A Guide for Men with Prostate Cancer". . . by P. MulhallI've been taking 100 mg of sildenafil, every second day. On the "off days", I use injections.

I have not yet been able to locate the videos on penile rehabilitation on the Memorial Sloan Kettering website. It is worth the effort as it could help yhou in your argumenjt with the insurance company. The daily dose Cialis 5mg worked great for me and I strongly wish I could afford to continue it.

Alan et al;I am wondering if having sex would increase Testosterone levels. Isn't that what feeds PCa? 6 months after RP, I am very impotent. After all the talk I am reading about with testosterone levels, I would think it might be playing cards against longevity. Am I correct, or won't sex, either alone or with a partner have a big enough effect on teh T level?Quite curious. Thanks for any info,Dan HarrimanOrange TexasIf at first you don't succeed, maybe you shouldn't try sky diving!Subject: Re: Your thoughts on Cialis 5mgTo:

Several years ago, I had a similar situation, and had to go through the

Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General to get the HMO to release their

Erectile Dysfunction Policy statements.

Policy No. FS.CLIN.24 from Future Scripts basically states that Erectile

Dysfunction agents (Viagra, etc.) are generally limited to eight injections,

tablets, or pills per 30 day period.

However, there are exceptions:

Agents approved for radical prostatectomy are limited to 30 units per 30 days

and authorization for this excess quantity is valid for ONLY 24 months.

Cialis 2.5mg and Cialis 5mg are FDA approved for once-daily dosing and are

therefore limited to 30 units for 30 days.

Requirements to receive this benifit include:

Individual must be 55 years of age or older

Documentation of either one of the following:

Erectile Dysfunction

Radical Prostatectomy within the last 6 months

No documentation or history of nitrate use within the last 6 months

For use of Alprostadil- only documentation of erectile dysfunction is needed.
