Guest guest
Well, you sure had two action packed posts. Isn't that sort of what life is about there though, the beauty and the wildness, the serenity and the danger? So glad is ok so you can write the story with good humor. Glad you're still enjoying Tasmania. > > We got a phone call from my eldest daughter yesterday morning to > let us know that she'd spent all night in A & E (Accident & Emergency) > being carefully monitored for a SNAKE bite...they tested the fluid > around the bite & apparently it didn't appear 'venomated'. Guest guest
Crikey ..if I let myself THINK about it too much I'd be a cot case...but that won't help 'cos my gals are both very outdoors in their orientation & SNAKES just go with the territory. I really worry about the kids but that's the same really...there ain't nuthin this ol' gal can do to change anything! Life, Death and the Universe.... Thank goodness they're well educated with SNAKE first aid & don't have far to go to get to the hospital. 's partner is a Volunteer Snake Catcher for goodness sake...he's more at risk than all of them! People ring the Volunteer Wildlife Carers Organistaion & Rob is one of the Carers who'll go to your house & remove any snakes or SNAKES & take them far away to a nature Reserve & release them. He has a full First Aid Kit in his 4WD at all times . Small comfort though! Guest guest
Nice in theory , but our snakes/SNAKES are quite comfy at the idea of sharing house-space!!!! came downstairs to her study one morning & her little toddler was standing at the door saying 'NAKE' mumma, 'NAKE"... & there WAS one , crawling over the computer KEYBOARD!!!!!! She lives on 5 acres just out of town that is old Dairy Farm territory....still LOADED with wildlife! It's hard to get the kids n' visitors to shut & clip the wire screen doors ALL the time! Look before you enter is what you have to do out there! I live in Town & I only know about 1 little shiny whip-snake in my yard. He's a happy l'il chappy & doesn't bother me at all! Most Aussies live in cities & never see snakes or SNAKES or Koalas, Possums, Kangaroos,Wallabies, Bandicoots....we get to see ALL of those! in Oz > > > We got a phone call from my eldest daughter > > yesterday morning to> > let us know that she'd spent all night in A & E> > (Accident & Emergency)> > being carefully monitored for a SNAKE bite...they> > tested the fluid> > around the bite & apparently it didn't appear> > 'venomated'.
