Guest guest
I was on a vaccine trial in 2002 (Onyvax), I'm pretty sure it sloweed down progression for a while, but soon things caught up with me. These things do have hope value for those who follow us, but as we are finding out research is a long painstaking business. Sometimes there has to be money spent to find out what doesn't work or is not worth the hassle, sometimes it leads to other compounds or variations to improve on what has gone before. It is good to know of the work that is being done, but I'll not hold my breath. Someday one of these things is going to get into main stream treatments and actually improve non progression. I hope it is sooner than later as I say for those who follow me. On the Horizon- Another Potential Prostate Cancer Vaccine Vaccine therapy is one of the new frontiers in cancer research and hopefully, in the very near future, in prostate cancer treatment…… Now, a potential new vaccine (Prostvac-VF ) that is based on a relative of the smallpox virus seems to also offer a life extending ability to men with advanced prostate cancer……. Preliminary tests conducted on 125 men with advanced prostate cancer that was hormone refractory showed they lived more than 8 months longer than men not treated with the vaccine.
