Guest guest
Hi everybody, Had a PSA test done yesterday at a separate cliinic from where I normally go, as part of of physical I needed to get for my disabilty benefits from the state. Got the results back today and my PSA had gone way down from 147 when I was diagnosed back in October to 5.0! It would seem that the Zoladex injections are having the desired effect? While still considered high, a drop from 147 to 5.0 is good news. They also said that my Thyroid level is low and want to do a scan to find out why. I am wondering if the Zoladex treatment can have an effect and may be the reason why the low thyroid reading. I put in a call to the Urologist to find out, haven'nt heard back yet. I will have another PSA done on Feb 8th as part of my regular scheduled appointment with the urologist so we will see if that one is lower as well. Also, I go back to the VA Hospital tomorrow for a surgical consult to see if they can do surgery for my groin hernia. Previously, the urologist had said it was unlikely due to the stage of my prostate cancer, but I will find out tomorrow. If they can do the surgery it will be great as I am often in a lot of pain from the hernia. I will let you know more later.
