Larry I don’t recall ever seeing a

paper entitled PSA 101. If you find it, please let us know: if you can’t

find it, perhaps it would be useful for your co-worker to access the booklet I wrote

A Strange Place

at http://www.yananow.org/StrangePlace/index.html

If they would like a hard copy I’m happy to mail one free of charge, but

it takes about 10 days to the US.

(Remember the old days when that was regarded as quite quick to get

information from one Continent to another??)

All the best

PCa 101

Where can

I find the Prostate Cancer 101 paper? I read it a long time ago when I was

first diagnosed. Now a coworker's father is going in for a biopsy and I would

like to give him a copy to educate himself before getting the results.

It appears that that article is quite old. Apparently there was a

support group of that name in Kingston NY at one time. The

article can be located via Google.

I do not believe that it is appropriate for the newly-diagnosed,

primarily because it tends to confuse the issue with verbiage

regarding " alternative treatments, " which are not science-based.

Including " Essiac, " which is a known quack nostrum well-exposed

on the Quackwatch website.

I can with every confidence recommend the Prostate Cancer

Research Institute (PCRI) and its " Newly Diagnosed " section at

http://www.prostate-cancer.org/pcricms/node/126

There is much other professionally-written and reliable

information available via PCRI and books such as _A Primer on

Prostate Cancer_ by PCa specialist B. Strum, MD and PCa

warrior Donna Pogliano.

Steve J

Your pamphlet was the first thing that I went to. The only thing is they were scared off by the number of pages. Nothing wrong with the size of your work I think they are just a little over consumed at the moment. I was hoping to find a "lite" version for them to read and digest first and then they will want to read Strange Place. Thank you for your excellent work. It really helped me when I was first diagnosed.
