Terry, For whatever it's worth, I'd like to say for the record that I think your website, http://www.yananow.net, is one of the best, most useful websites for people seeking information on prostate cancer. There's no flash and dash, no ritzy photos, graphics and live scripting, but there's a ton of very useful information. I work as a computer programmer at the U.S. National Cancer Institute. Our website (http://www.cancer.gov) is a wonderful site, supported by a big team of professional programmers and graphics designers with content created by about a hundred of the leading MD and PhD. oncologists and scientists from multiple countries and a big team of dedicated supporting staff. I believe it's an excellent website with state of the art design and the latest truly authoritative information on all types of cancers. However, as much as I think NCI has done a great job, as a government sponsored organization there are certain things that they don't and can't do. For prostate cancer, Yananow does some of those things and does them better than any website I know. I have seen many men who have visited it say, " That is exactly what I was looking for. " Thank you for building and maintaining it. Alan
Guest guest
I'll second that Alan ! On the day I was diagnosed I found Terry's yananow site and it was exactly what I was looking for. Where else could one get so much information. That some may term it 'anecdotal' to me is irrelevant, the fact that it relayed 'personal' experiences from men who had had already gone through what was ahead of me gave me an invaluable insight as to what might lie ahead, certainly not information that my Urologist at the time had gone into in any detail. As well as reading the posts on the site I contacted several guys direct with various questions I had (and let's face it you can hardly ask your Uro at 3am!) and everyone responded with useful info. Thanks once again for all your effort and hard work Terry. Yananow is a great asset and a great testiment to yourself. Best regards, Malaga,Spain Re: Yananow, was 'Going strong' was.....
