Guest guest
Dawn, Not necessarily thank God! Since my dx in June of 06 I've had respiratory infections twice. The first in October of '06, that was bronchitis which my doctor treated aggressively with two antibiotics. I had some atelectasis (lung collapse) with that but managed to avoid hospitalization. It took me about 2 weeks to get better. That one was a bit scary because I was still on a high dose of prednisone and knew my immune system was suppressed but I got through it. The second time was last month I had a crummy head cold for about a week or so. I felt crappy and my head felt like it was the size of the Goodyear Blimp but it stayed in my head and away from my chest which was all I cared about. I got through that without antibiotics. The hardest thing for me about all of this has been learning to slow waaaayyyy down and reduce my expectations about what I can accomplish. The reality is I need much more rest than I ever did before and that's nothing compared to what I need when I'm not feeling well. I HATE it!
