Guest guest
Well, sounds like they are trying to be thorough. Were all these ordered by your lung doctor? Technician is often clueless as to why test is being run, unfortunately. But with 11 vials of blood they should be able to test for everything known to mankind. Urine sample could always yield something. Years ago, I went to a medical practice that would not see you without doing a simple blood draw and urinalysis. They did it immediately in their own lab. But I'd rather have thorough than partial. > > Well, I went in today for my first set of labs since being dx'd. with > PF and they drew 11 vials of blood!!! Guest guest
Yes, that’s true. These tests were ordered by my GP, not my lung Dr. and I believe they were ordered BEFORE my PF diagnosis, if I’m not mistaken. Dawn in N.B. Guest guest
I would say they are still very valuable as there are often other accompanying illnesses and conditions to be ruled out and certainly all organs need checking, such as kidneys and liver. Need reading on glucose levels, thyroid. So, just because you've identified a lung condition doesn't make a thorough screening less important, but more. > > > > Well, I went in today for my first set of labs since being dx'd. with > > PF and they drew 11 vials of blood!!!
